Ceramic coating · from $399

Paint protection built for a driveway in Tampa, not a garage in Vermont.

Your paint sits under hard UV most of the year, gets dusted with pollen every spring, splattered by love bugs every May and September, and rinsed by sudden afternoon storms. A cured ceramic coating gives the clear coat a layer that fights all of it and makes the next wash a lot faster.

What ceramic coating actually does

It's a chemical bond, not a layer of wax sitting on top waiting to wash away.

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to the clear coat at a molecular level once it's applied and cured. Instead of sitting loosely on the surface the way wax or a spray sealant does, it becomes part of the surface itself — harder, glossier, and far more resistant to the things that dull paint over time.

In Tampa that matters because the paint is under attack from every direction. UV breaks down unprotected clear coat and fades pigment. Love bugs hit the front end hard twice a year and their remains turn acidic within hours if left in the sun. Sprinkler overspray and hard water leave mineral spots that etch in if they dry on bare paint. A cured coating makes the surface slicker, so water beads up and rolls off — usually taking dust, pollen and light grime with it — instead of drying flat and baking contaminants into the clear coat.

That slickness also means washing gets easier. Bugs and sap wipe off without the scrubbing that can put swirl marks into unprotected paint, and afternoon storms rinse a coated hood cleaner than an uncoated one parked right next to it.

Coating suits daily-driven vehicles that live outside, dark paint that shows every swirl in direct sun, and anyone who's tired of waxing every few weeks just to keep the car looking presentable.

How it compares

Wax, sealant or ceramic coating?

All three protect paint. The difference is how long they last and how much upkeep they need to keep working in Florida conditions.

Coating over paint that already has swirls or oxidation just seals that damage in under a glossy layer. If your paint needs correction, we'll say so before we coat anything.

Ceramic coating FAQ

The questions we get asked every week.

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your clear coat instead of just sitting on top of it the way wax does. Once cured it forms a hard, glossy, hydrophobic layer that makes water bead and roll off the paint, taking a lot of the dirt with it.

Ceramic coating starts at $399. The final price depends on the size of the vehicle, how many layers you choose, and whether the paint needs correction before the coating goes on.

It depends on the product and layers applied, how the vehicle is washed, and how much it sits outside under Florida sun. Regardless of the timeline, the gloss and water beading are your visual signal — when beading slows down, it's time to have it looked at.

If the paint has swirl marks, scratches or oxidation, coating over it just locks that damage in under a glossy layer. We inspect the paint first and tell you honestly whether correction should happen before the coating, or whether the paint is clean enough to go straight to coating.

The coating needs an initial cure period before it gets wet, and we'll give you the exact window for the product used on your vehicle along with simple aftercare instructions.

A cured ceramic coating makes the surface slicker, so love bug residue, sap, bird droppings and sprinkler water spots have a much harder time bonding to the paint and are far easier to rinse or wipe off before they etch in.
